WWE Champion Drew McIntyre Opens Up On Jinder Mahal: “He Became Champion Before Me”

The WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has evolved as the strongest babyface on RAW. He has dominated and outperformed all of his competitors including Seth Rollins. Recently, Drew opened up about the early days of his wrestling career where he talked about his former 3MB tag team partner Jinder Mahal.

Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre have been former partners of the 3MB team alongside Heath Slater. Slater had mentioned before that he would love to see a feud between the rest of his stablemates. Drew McIntyre opened up about his potential WWE Championship feud with Jinder Mahal in the future and also teased that fans will get to see a new Mahal very soon.

In an interview with Wrestling Inc, Drew stated: “He(Jinder) was there the whole time, both getting fired and me trying to go out there in the independents to make my name. He went off, kind of gave up [and] stopped working out. He turned his life around, went back to WWE and became WWE Champion before me.”

He added: “It wasn’t exactly universally praised as when I won the WWE Championship, so there are so many possible layers to this story that the world has seen on television and have not seen. It could make for one of the most memorable feuds of all time. There’s so much material.”

Meanwhile, Drew McIntyre will be defending his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley at Backlash.
