Soorma Trailer: Diljit Dosanjh Is All Set To Achieve The Extraordinary!

As we all know Soorma is a biopic on the life of the hockey player Sandeep Singh. Angad will be essaying former hockey player and mentor Bikramjit Singh to Diljit Dosanjh ‘s character Sandeep Singh. The film also stars Taapsee Pannu and is directed by Shaad Ali. Soorma trailer is out and as we said it’s full of goosebumps.

The makers of the film released the trailer today. The movie narrates the inspiring story of the veteran, who was paralysed and used a wheelchair for two years after an accidental gunshot injured him in 2006. The story is the greatest comeback of all times which shows how Sandeep got back on his feet and made a comeback to international hockey in 2008. India won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup under his captaincy and went on to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.

Actress Taapsee Pannu says being a Punjabi helped her to play her character in the film Soorma.

Taapsee, along with co-star Diljit Dosanjh and Indian hockey team’s former captain Sandeep Singh — whose life has inspired the movie — attended a promotional event recently.

Asked whether being Punjabi helped her to play her character in Soorma, Taapsee said: “I took a lot of advantage of that. When you do a Hindi film which has Punjab as its backdrop, then there is a feeling of home ground… For me, the challenging part was learning to play hockey than playing my character.

The Pink actress said she was very embarrassed that she herself didn’t know about Singh’s journey.

“For me, the biggest thrill was that I got the opportunity to work in a sports film because I really like sports. I never imagined that I will play hockey.”
