Kalakkatha From Ayyapanum Koshiyum: This Folk Song From The Prithviraj Sukumaran Action-Drama Will Set Your Spirit High

With less than a week away from its release, Ayyapanum Koshiyum is one of the much-anticipated films of the year in Mollywood. Now the makers of the Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon action drama, released the first song from the film last evening. The song that we are talking about has been titled as Kalakkatha and is a folk song.

Prithviraj took to his Twitter handle to share the beautiful track with his fans and followers.

The Malayalam superstar along with the song video had a caption that read: “#AyyappanumKoshiyum has one of the most unusual soundtracks for a mainstream film in Malayalam & full credit to @JxBe for delivering #Sachy’s vision to perfection! Originally created by our dearest #Nanchamma. Enjoy!”

Talking about Kalakkatha, the folk song has been sung by folklore singer Nanchamma from Attapadi village in Kerala, where the entire film has been shot. The song showcases the natural beauty of Attapadi, and gives us a glimpse of the daily life of locals residing there. Apart from that one also get to see few scenes from the film which has Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon sharing cold vibes and sharing intense glare at each other, as the lead duo in the film plays arch-rivals to one another.

The lyrics of Kalakkatha too has been penned by Nanchamma herself. Whereas the music is been composed by Jakes Bejoy.

More about Ayyapanum Koshiyum, apart from Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon, the action drama also stars Ranjith, Suresh Krishna and Anna Rajan in key roles.

Ayyapanum Koshiyum is been directed by filmmaker Sachy, and it is been bankrolled by Ranjith and PM Sasidharan under Gold Coin Motion Picture Company.

The action drama is slated to hit big screens on 7th February.
