Time and again, Alia Bhatt has proved that she is one of the most hardworking and talented actresses in Bollywood. The young actress, who will next be seen on the big screen in her upcoming film Raazi, just gave fans a little glance of her film’s first song Ae Watan with renowned singer Shankar Mahadevan.
Alia, who is currently promoting her espionage thriller Raazi was recently a guest on Rising Star, a reality TV show judged by Shankar Mahadevan, Monali Thakur and Diljit Dosanjh.
There, the actress sang some lines of ‘Aye Watan’, a patriotic song from her film, along with Shankar Mahadevan. While the audience cheered them on, the soulful voice of the two, along with the emotional lyrics struck a chord with everyone who listened to it. Shanker even uploaded the video of the two singing, with the caption, “Mai jahan rahoon, jaha me yaad rahe tu! ?? Watch our amiable @aliaabhatt sing our first song from @raazihoon.”

Talking about her upcoming film on the show, Alia said, “In our country’s history, there have been many bravehearts who never received any medals or awards, whose stories remain untold to this day. This song Aye Vatan is an ode to these unsung heroes, whom we do not recognize, even though they have sacrificed so much for us.”
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Raazi tells the story of a Kashmiri spy married to a Pakistani officer during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. It is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel ‘Calling Sehmat’, and features Vicky Kaushal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajit Kapur and Soni Razdan in pivotal roles.
Aside from Raazi, Alia will also be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, opposite Ranveer Singh. She will also start shooting for the 2nd schedule of Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy drama Brahmastra, where she will be seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
