Many people worldwide are waiting for an update on Sherlock Season 5. The British mystery crime series stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in the lead roles. But The CW has announced a spin-off series titled Sherlock & Daughter, which might excite the fans of the fictional detective.

As reported by Deadline, the series will have Sherlock, a young girl named Amelia, as his daughter and even Moriarty. So it’s not going to be a melodramatic father-daughter series. The premise will be about a young American girl, Amelia, arriving in London after her mother’s murder. She learns that her father is a famous detective. The father-daughter duo will solve not only her mother’s murder mystery but also a significant global conspiracy together. But who is going to play Sherlock Holmes? Actor David Thewlis will play London’s most famous detective. Many of us have watched him play Remus Lupin, a James and Lily Potter friend. Remus joins Hogwarts as the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. He is also a werewolf in the Harry Potter franchise. David also appears in Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2.

Who Plays Jim Moriarty and Sherlock’s Daughter Amelia?

Actor Dougray Scott will portray Jim Moriarty in The CW series. The Scottish actor has appeared in Heist, Sinbad, Batwoman, The Woman in White, etc. Actress Blu Hunt will play Sherlock’s daughter, Amelia, in the show. She has previously worked in The Originals and Another Life series.

Sherlock & Daughter will premiere on The CW in 2025.
