While many people thought that she bagged the film after participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi, the actress revealed the truth behind it. In a recent interview, Tejasswi revealed she landed the project because of a controversy that stirred around her show Pehredaar Piya Ki.
According to the actress, she got noticed due to the controversy and the hype around it helped her in a good way. The actress in a conversation with Times Of India said, “The content was bashed but people were like, ‘Who’s that girl’. That’s how I got Rohit Shetty’s film. I didn’t receive any backlash. The film happened after Pehredaar Piya Ki. So in a way all the hype helped me. It opened a lot many doors for me.”

For the uninitiated, TV show Pehredaar Piya Ki received a lot of backlash from the viewers due to the content of the show wherein Tejasswi was paired opposite child actor Affan Khan. Makers of the show had to pull the plug on the show as the viewers objected to Tejasswi character being married to a 9-year old boy.
