Over the period of 12 years, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has became a household name in India. Every character of the show, be it Jethalal, Daya or Babita, has made its place amongst viewers’ hearts. Last year came as a shocker, when one of the beloved actor of the cast, Kavi Kumar Azad, met a tragic death. On his death anniversary, producer Asit Kumarr Modi remembered the celebrated actor.

While talking with Pinkvilla, Asit Kumarr Modi said, “We miss him but nothing in our hand and in replacement of him Mr. Nirmal Soni playing the role is doing his job very sincerely.”

Also, actor Ambika Ranjankar who essayed his on-screen wife shared a picture on Instagram with a caption, ” You’ll always be in our hearts… I’m sure you are watching over us”.

Last year on 9th July, Kavi Kumar Azad died after a massive cardiac arrest, at the age of 46. Actor Nirmal Soni replaced the actor for the role of Dr.Hathi.

Apart from Taarak Mehta, Azad also essayed roles in popular Bollywood movies like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Baazigar, Baadshah and Jodhaa Akbar.

“He was brought dead by his brother and a few more people to our hospital at 12.10 p.m. today (Monday). He was 46 years old. Going by his history, he had respiratory problems,” Ravi Hirwani, centre head, Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road, told IANS.
