Television actor Ravi Dubey, who began his acting career in 2006 with the DD National TV show Stree… Teri Kahaani, became a household name with his performance as the lead actor in the family dramas Saas Bina Sasural (2010) and Jamai Raja (2014). Recently, the actor opened up and said it is not easy for television actors to make it big in Bollywood.
Many television stars have made their Bollywood acting debut. Actors like Hina Khan, Karan Singh Grover, Sanaya Irani, Manish Paul and many others made their debut in the film industry in the last couple of years.
Talking about the transition of a TV actor into a Bollywood one, Ravi said, “It’s not easy, because there are times certain myopic viewpoints and preconceived notions come into play. He told IANS, adding, “But these notions will soon evaporate.”

Ravi feels the entertainment industry need repair. He said, “The entertainment industry has made us whatever we are. It’s a great industry but the system needs repair. We have all at some point of time or the other been at the receiving end. It is time for a change in perspective, but I do feel we are at a point of a huge metamorphosis.”
Ravi recently penned a poem titled Aankde, which translates to numbers. The poem is a comment on the industry’s obsession with box office numbers.
On the work front, Ravi Dubey was seen as the host of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs. He also featured in the web series Jamai 2.0 and film 3 Dev.
