Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana has been trending all over the internet ever since it was announced that the epic show will be retelecasted on Doordarshan. Indian viewers who are home quarantined these days due to Coronavirus Pandemic now had a great option to relish TV entertainment and stay spiritual.

The show was first retelecasted on the gone by Saturday and as per BARC, it has created history as far as the TV ratings are concerned. The first 4 shows since the re-launch have garnered 170 million viewers and that speaks for itself.

The craze for Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana has always been great. When the show was first telecasted 30 years back, it enjoyed great public attention and also managed to bring lakhs of families together in front of the TV. Now with its retelecast, it’s doing almost the same.

Meanwhile going by the huge public demand, the government re-telecast body has also decided to telecast other popular shows Mahabharat, Byomkesh Bakshi, and the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Circus.

While Ramayan is being telecasted everyday at 9 am and 9 pm, Byomkesh Bakshi has been allotted the 11 am slot. Mahabharat airs at 12 noon and 7 pm while Circus has been given 8 pm slot.

The demands for several other old shows continues on social media. These include the Milind Soman-starrer Captain Vyom, Mukesh Khanna’s Shaktimaan, Malgudi Days, Hum Log, Alif Laila and Fauji.
