American stand up comedian, Gabriel Iglesias aka Fluffy had a break from comedy back in 2017. Now that he is back in the game in the full form he is ready with the answers.
Gabriel Iglesias who has two Netflix comedy specials lined up right now and also season 2 of Mr. Iglesias slated to premiere from June 17, speaks how he went on a backfoot due to personal reasons.
Talking to People, Gabriel Iglesias said the stress of balancing work and personal life took a toll on him, and “everything fell apart.”

Gabriel Iglesias had a split from his longtime partner Claudia Valdez amid all this though he still has a strong relationship with 22-year-old son whom they raised together. Gabriel opened up and said that as he went on a break, it was a time of “emotional rebuild” for him. He said that he went to “Survival mode” and even skipped drinking alcohol for two years.
Speaking to the magazine about the same, Gabriel said, “I drink now, but I needed that time to reflect,”
“I couldn’t drink and fix myself,” he added.
Talking about his happy space now, Gabriel explained, “Home is different for me now. I can focus on myself, my career, my kid and my dogs.”
Meanwhile, Gabriel also can’t wait to get back on the road as his comic tour remains on hold amid the ongoing pandemic. “I feel like I’ve got everything I ever wanted,” he says. “I love every minute of being out there.”
