Spanish thriller, Money Heist has been renewed for its fifth and final season by Netflix. While fans are still glued to Season four of the show, the showrunner, Álex Pina shared some exciting news – that is sure to make your day.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the entertainment industry around the globe has been effected. But some positive news for Money Heist fans is that the filming for the fifth season of the show is currently underway. At the end of season four, the Professor (Álvaro Morte) was held at gunpoint by former police inspector Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri), who had infiltrated his hideout. The season also had the team of robbers declaring war following the tragic death of Nairobi (Alba Flores).

In a recent development, some recent casting news for Money Heist Season 5 has caused fans to raise a brow. Actors Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Patrick Criado are all set to join the ensemble cast in the final season. Now, while Money Heist fans are busy figuring out the roles of two pivotal new members of the cast, a hint from showrunner, Álex Pina, may have revealed a new enemy for the Professor.

At the end of Money Heist season four, a heavily pregnant Alicia Sierra was fired from the Spanish police department, opening up a spot for another inspector to make an entry.
Series’ creator and showrunner Álex Pina may have confirmed the new season will feature one more formidable rival for the Professor to face off against. Pina explained: “We always try to make sure that our opponents are charismatic, intelligent, shiny. In this case, in pure war film genre, we also look for characters whose intelligence can measure up against The Professor’s.”
