The anticipation for Jordan Peele’s much spoken about new HBO series Lovecraft Country was already high. In this case, the first episode that that aired this week was awaited and we are happy to report that the audience has loved the show. Lovecraft Country is based on Matt Ruff’s novel by the same name. It follows a black veteran of the Korean war, who sets out on a journey to Massachusetts. The man is looking for his lost father who went missing after coming in contact with a strange man. Accompanied by two more friends and sci-fi buff, the show encounters with magic, rituals and an alternate reality.
The first episode that premiered has caught the attention of its audience. Lovecraft Country is being hailed for its black representation and the idea behind it. The Jordan Peele show has sparked the conversation around horrors of racism in America yet again.

Talking about the first episode of Lovecraft Country, a Twitter user wrote, “Bruh. The scene panning the city of all black people, children in the street, business owners grilling on storefronts chatting with friends & neighbours then right into the bedroom of the brownest couple in bed sharing sweet nothings before rising, broke me. #LovecraftCountry.”
Another wrote, “#LovecraftCountry is literally everything. I am shook. I am terrified. I am all kinds obsessed. And I will be anxiously awaiting the new episode every Sunday!” Pointing out the horror, a user tweeted, “What was scarier the real monsters in all the racist ass people or the fake Lovecraft monsters? #LovecraftCountry”

Lovecraft Country has been receiving low ratings all day on IMDb, this morning it was at 6.3. We all know why. This treatment is normal for black-led series and movies.
