Balaji Telefilms Limited recently announced a 34% revenue growth in its financial results for the fourth quarter (ended on 31st March 2020). It has reported growth in all its three domains including, Balaji Telefilms, Balaji Motion Pictures Limited, and ALTBalaji across all parameters, thereby showcasing a significant increase in business performance. Considering their commendable growth, Balaji has certainly made sure to keep their audience entertained.

Balaji Telefilms has witnessed a strong financial year, as their popular television shows including Naagin 4, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Kumkum Bhagya, and Kundali Bhagya amongst others not only dominated the TRP ratings but also made the content powerhouse the number 1 ranked production house.

The movie business delivered a strong performance for the year with three releases, including Judgementall Hai Kya, Jabariya Jodi, and Dream Girl. The production house is looking at an exciting line-up of movies for the coming year.

ALTBalaji, one of India’s leading homegrown OTT platforms, had a strong revenue growth for the year, with revenues growing at 88%. With their mission to massify OTT to the Hindi heartlands, ALTBalaji scaled new heights in the original Hindi SVOD space through its diverse and relatable content. ALTBalaji continues to host the biggest Indian originals library with 62 Hindi originals. The shows are a healthy mix of thriller, drama, romance, youth drama, horror, comedy, amongst others. Each show present on the platform, or in the pipeline, has been created, keeping in mind the audiences’ interest across demographic and sociographic segments. In a price-sensitive country like India, ALTBalaji’s direct subscription revenue has grown over 100% year on year.

During the lockdown period, ALTBalaji has been credited for providing web shows appealing to all age groups. They launched a very Delhi style comedy-drama ‘Who’s Your Daddy?’, featuring Rahul Dev and YouTuber Harsh Beniwal. Moreover, the second season of their popular show Baarish featuring Sharman Joshi and Asha Negi in lead roles along with a cameo by legendary actor Jeetendra also released. Additionally, after two successful seasons of the show Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain, ALTBalaji launched its finale season. ALTBalaji also continues to be the only app that includes multiple shows with returning seasons and the current pipeline includes 20-24 original shows for the year.
