EXCLUSIVE! Jitendra Kumar On His Upcoming Series ‘Panchayat’, A Humorous Tale On The Reflection Of Society!

We got into an exclusive conversation with Jitendra Kumar and asked him all about Panchayat. The actor gave us a sneak peek to his show as well his character as, “It is a story of varied characters. There are a lot of people from the village and there’s a guy called Abhishek who comes from an urban area to this village. It’s about the struggles he deals with, post he finds a job at the Panchayat. It’s different from the usual perspective of a village. We might think there will be people, sitting and chatting, discussing superstitions. Nothing like that happens as Panchayat is a proper office, which works regularly similar to an office in the urban sector. The story deals with all of it, like a Nagarpalika in a Town or a Vidhan sabha in a state. It’s not like sitting below a tree and working. It’s about getting rid of all those usual perceptions and if you watch it, you’ll witness a different side of today’s villages. We have narrated it all with a lot of fun and humour. You’ll have a fun ride of laughter with every sequence. It is a very light-hearted show. We have seen shows like Gangs Of Wasseypur and it is opposite to that. We’ve portrayed the simplistic side.”

Asked about whether it is a conscious story to pick projects that are a reflection of the society, the Kota Factory fame actor answered, “It is not a conscious effort. I wish to do different kinds of films and projects if I like the character and feel that people will find it interesting. Definitely, script is something that I would want to be unique, but people find a common man in me. So, I don’t mind even if I have to play a common man character as long as the story is good and the people around are fun to work with.”
