Did You Know? Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Shyam Pathak Featured In A Chinese Film With Anupam Kher

SAB TV’s sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most popular shows on television. The unique characters of the show are loved by the audience and the whole cast has been entertaining viewers for more than a decade now. Recently, we got to know that actor Shyam Pathak, who is known for playing the character of Poptalal, has been a part of a Chinese film.

Yes, that’s true! Shyam Pathak apparently featured in a Chinese film titled, ‘Lust, Caution’ along with veteran actor Anupam Kher. Interestingly, this happened just a year before Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah released i.e. in 2007. In the film, Shyam played the role of a jewellery shopkeeper.

Shyam Pathak plays the character of Patrakaar Poptalal in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He is an ageing journalist bachelor who is in a constant hunt for a suitable bride for himself. His cynical nature, Toofan Express stories, and ‘Duniya Hila Dunga’ dialogue are the highlights of his character. Shyam’s unique dialogue delivery and impressive acting skills have made him one of the most loved characters of the show.

Talking about TMKOC, SAB TV is currently running the reruns of the old episodes. Due to lockdown, no new episodes are being shot. Despite running the old episodes, the show is still garnering good TRP.
