Last year, we saw Palak Sidhwani filling in the shoe of Nidhi Bhanushali as Sonu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Initially, she received mix reactions from viewers but eventually, she has created her space amongst the fans.
Just like any other actor of the sitcom, Palak too has some dedicated fan pages on social media. Her Sonu’s portrayal is quite different from the ones that were pulled off by Jheel Mehta and Nidhi, which is why she is termed as a breath of fresh air by viewers.
Many of our viewers think Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is Palak Sidhwani’s first break. But wait, it isn’t the truth. Yes, before this sitcom, she has been part of the web series named Hostages. It featured Ronit Roy and Tisca Chopra in key roles. It was premiered in May 2019 on Hotstar.

Meanwhile, recently Palak Sidhwani shared her father’s first reaction to the news of her being part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. In a conversation with Telly Chakkar, Palak revealed that her father wasn’t aware that she has an interest in acting and hence believed that she is joking around. She narrated the incident post getting a call from the makers.
“My father turned towards me and asked me if I have bagged a job at their office as he was unaware about my passion for acting. All three of us smiled at his question and explained to him that I’ll be seen in the show as Sonu Bhide. My father was a bit shocked and deep within though that probably it is some sort of a prank or it wont materialise. It is only when he saw me on Television sets that he came to terms that his daughter is now a part of the most popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chahshmah,” she said.
