Amruta Khanvilkar Opens Up About Her Stint In Khatron Ke Khiladi: “My Husband Called Up The Channel And…”

Khatron Ke Khiladi: Rohit Shetty’s Khatron Ke Khiladi 10 took off amid great fanfare. While the contestant list this time is very powerful, the stunts performed in the show are tougher and scarier than the previous seasons. With names like Karan Patel, Karishma Tanna, Dharmesh Yelande and Amruta Kahnvilkar among others, this season of the stunt-based reality is certainly something to look out for.

While not many celebrities would readily agree to be a part of a show that has one soaked with insects or even eat them sometimes, Amruta Khanvilkar said she grabbed the opportunity to be a part of Khatron Ke Khildi with both hands. Though Amruta revealed that she was more than eager to be a part of the show, her husband and actor Himanshoo Malhohtra was skeptical about her participation in the show.

Opening up about her experience in Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 10 and Himanshu’s skepticism about her being a part of the show , Amruta has been quoted by ETimes saying, “I had an amazing journey on Khatron Ke Khiladi 10. I feel every actor at least once in their career should try a show like KKK whenever they are offered. It is once in a lifetime experience. When you are an actor, you are judged as a performer or a dancer, but on Khatron Ke Khiladi your human instinct is put to the test. Anyone who said instantly yes to this show was me. Himanshu took about a month to say yes to the show or let me do the show. He called up people from the channel, the production house, few previous contestants to check if it’s ok to do the show. I had even warned him that if I miss out on the show because of him, I will not spare him. He is extra protective about me, so he wanted to double-check everything. He is very careful, he asks the right questions. In fact, even after I signed the show he kept asking me If I really wanted to do the show. He even called me when I was going to do my first stunt if I was sure about my participation. I sometimes hate his overprotectiveness.”

Amruta and Himanshu have been married for over 5 years now and the couple has also won the dance reality show, Nach Baliye Season 7. Hosted by celebrated filmmaker Rohit Shetty, Khatron Ke Khiladi airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:00 PM on Colors Tv.
