Prakash Jha directorial and Bobby Deol starrer MX Player show Aashram has been one of the biggest hits on OTT this year in India. The show which talks about a fraud saint named Baba Nirala has been highly enjoyed by the viewers.
Along with all the love, the show had its own share of controversies as well. A case was filed against it for allegedly portraying the Hindu saints in a bad light and Jodhpur Court sent a notice to Bobby Deol and Prakash Jha for the same.
However, the team of Aashram is clearly focussing on the love they have got from the audience. The latest we hear is that Prakash has already started prepping up for Chapter 3 of the show in Patna. The filmmaker has been quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror, “The first two parts were shot together and then released in parts; the new season will be an actual Part 2. This time, we will be focusing on the downfall of Baba Nirala, who rose to such prominence in the last season.”
Prakash Jha also opened up about the negativity around the show and how several people on social medial called for its boycott. “When you make something that affects the masses, a polarised reaction is to be expected,” he said.

At the same time, he clarified that there are no Hinduphobic statements in Aashram and it never mentions any religion. “They kept rising, but I was really surprised to see it cross the 1 billion mark. From this I gauged that people love to watch such content; I can’t imagine why though!” he added.
Earlier speaking about the success of Aashram, Bobby Deol had said that he is looking forward to season 3. “I am looking forward to it (third season). I just want to thank all the fans for the appreciation and love that we have received for Aashram,” he said, while interacting with the media.
Bobby’s co-star Anuritta Jha added: “Aashram is one of the top-running web series on the internet, so automatically it increases your responsibility to come up with a better content and a good show. I am hoping that this show will do well in future as well.”
