With Prabhas’ Spirit, Sandeep Reddy Vanga To Tie With SS Rajamouli & Become Highest Paid Director?

Last year, Sandeep Reddy Vanga announced his new movie Spirit with actor Prabhas. After the success of the Hindi film Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, the director decided to return to his roots and make a Telugu film. Since his movie with the Baahubali actor was announced, their fans have been highly excited.

Spirit will also be another violent film, the kind of stories the Kabir Singh director enjoys making. But what if we tell you that Sandeep Reddy Vanga will be paid the amount similar to what RRR director SS Rajamouli gets? Yes, you read it right! A report by Telugu Cinema states that Vanga and his brother (also a producer) earned Rs 200 crore for the Ranbir starrer.

SS Rajamouli’s remuneration is between Rs 100 to 150 crore for each film. If Sandeep’s next Telugu film makes at least Rs 1000 crore at the box office, he might get paid as much as the Baahubali director. The report further states that T-Series and the Animal director are bankrolling the film together. They have huge plans for the pre-release. Everyone benefitted a lot from Animal’s success. If things go well, we can expect Vanga to receive a fee between 125-150 crores, like Rajamouli.

Meanwhile, Spirit, starring Prabhas, is a violent cop thriller. Sandeep has written the story himself. Earlier reports stated that the film’s story is set in the same universe as Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. Previously, production designer Suresh told India Today that Vanga’s next is bigger than his 2023 Hindi film. So, the excitement of seeing what he brings to the Telugu movie audience is relatively high.

Furthermore, along with Spirit, Prabhas also has 2898 in the pipeline. Nag Ashwin helms the sci-fi dystopian film, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 9, 2024.
