Vidya Balan On Working With Ajith In Nerkonda Paarvai: “Felt Like I Was Acting With His Lookalike”

The Tamil remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s film Pink is Nerkonda Paarvai, in which Vidya Balan will be seen making her Tamil debut. It is being directed by H Vinoth. She will be playing the wife of South superstar Ajith Kumar who is majorly known for his work in Tamil cinema.

Now according to reports the actress is keeping her character’s role play under wraps. She has confirmed that she will be doing a song in the movie. The Parineeta actress also said that she does not like movies to be remade but she is in the movie only for Boney Kapoor and late actress Sridevi.

During an interview with The Hindu, when the actress was asked about her experience of working with Ajith she said, “I couldn’t believe that the guy, who drives people mad, was standing in front of me with utmost simplicity.” She further said, “To be honest, I felt as though I was acting with his lookalike. He was that humble. When I spoke to him about the ‘Thala’ image and how different he was in person, he was shy.”

When Boney had approached her with the idea of remaking Pink in Tamil, her instant reaction was “Why would you remake it?”

Over a telephonic interview she further revealed, “If there is a section of audiences who hadn’t seen the Hindi original because of the language barrier, they deserve a chance.” “When I learned that Boney ji brought in Ajith on board, it was just icing on the cake for me,” she laughs, “I’m just glad that everything fell in place; my first film in Tamil starring Ajith and produced by Boney ji.”

The star cast of Nerkonda Paarvai also includes Shraddha Srinath, Abirami and Adhik Ravichandran in important roles. The music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
