Veteran Actress Geetanjali Ramakrishna Passes Away

Geetanjali was introduced to Telugu film industry by Sr.NTR in 1961 with his directorial Seetarama Kalyanam.

Veteran actress Geetanjali Ramakrishna breathed her last early today after suffering from cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Hyderabad, where she was undergoing treatment for the same.

Geetanjali, in her over five-decade-long filmy career, has acted in over 500 films in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam languages.

The actress is well known for her roles in films Illalu, Sitarama Kalyanam, Dr.Chakravarthy, Murali Krishna, Abbayigaru Ammayigaru, Kaalam Marindi, and Sambarala Rambabu.

The news of the actress’ sad demise spread like wildfire all over. Following which her fans and movie lovers from all across took on Twitter to express their grief.

Geetanjali was born in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The actress was married to late actor Ramakrishna with whom she had shared same screen space in few films at the initial stages of her filmy career.

Geetanjali was introduced to Telugu film industry by Sr.NTR in 1961 with his directorial Seetarama Kalyanam in which the actress played the role of the goddess Sita.

The actress’ last work was in Tamannaah Bhatia starrer film That Is Mahalakshmi, which is a Telugu remake of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, Rajkummar Rao starrer Queen which released 2014.

As per reports, the last rites of the senior actress will be performed today evening.
