At the Indian box office, Salaar made gross collections of 480.26 crores. A report by Telegucinema.com claims the action flick did not cover its high costs for distributors in Andhra Pradesh. Mythri Movie Makers brought the rights for the Nizam area. While the company did earn profits, some individual distributors in the area incurred losses since they brought the rights at staggering prices.

Upon learning about the same, Salaar producer Vijay Kirgandur contacted the individual distributors and compensated them. Despite no demand for money, the production team called them personally and took care of their losses.
Meanwhile, Myhtri Movie Tickets brought the rights for Salaar at a cost of 60 crores, but it turned out to be a profitable affair. Even distributors in the United States made handsome money as the film grossed $8.9 million there.

Meanwhile, Prabhas rose to immense fame with his portrayal as Shivudu in Baahubali: The Beginning. Released back in 2015, SS Rajamouli‘s film marks the biggest film in the Darling actor’s career. It earned worldwide box office collections of 650 crores. Salaar could have unlocked that milestone, but it missed the mark by merely 35 crores.
Salaar followed the friendship of Deva (Prabhas), a tribesman, and Varadha (Prithviraj), the prince of Khansaar. Varadha’s father’s ministers and relatives plan a coup, following which he takes Deva’s help to become the undisputed king of Khansaar.
Prabhas teased fans a few months back, confirming Salaar 2 is on the cards. But a recent report claimed Prashanth Neel is currently in no mood to work on the sequel. He’s busy with his next with Jr NTR and may work on KGF Chapter 3 post that.
