SS Rajamouli is currently in Japan, where he attended a special screening of his 2022 blockbuster, RRR. The period action drama stars Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson and others. Rajamouli’s son, SS Karthikeya, has also accompanied the director to Japan.

On March 21, in the early morning, earthquake tremors were felt in Japan. SS Rajamouli’s son, SS Karthikeya, posted where they were when the earthquake happened. On the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Karthikeya wrote, “Felt a freaking earthquake in Japan just now!!! Was on the 28th floor and slowly the ground started to move and took us a while to realise it was an earthquake. I was just about to panic but all the Japanese around did not budge as if it just started to rain!! Experience an earthquake box ticked.”

As soon as Karthikeya posted this, fans asked if he and the RRR director were okay. Later, SS Rajamouli’s son posted another tweet and thanked Japan for the unparalleled love received for their movie. He wrote, “Japan!!!!!!!! You never fail to overwhelm us with your adoration! Your love is unparalleled and we are forever grateful!! This affection is what brings us back again and again!! Arigatou gozaimasu!! PS: A group had come to see us off at the airport with these cute little gifts.”

RRR director SS Rajamouli has not posted anything about feeling the earthquake tremors. However, we are glad everyone is safe, and the duo is returning to India.

Meanwhile, Rajamouli confirmed the sequel for Ram Charan and Jr NTR’s film in Japan. After the special screening, the Baahubali director said that he has ideas for the RRR sequel, but can’t share anything at this point. The news of RRR getting another part has made everyone happy. The film was a visual treat, filled with fantastic drama, action, and incredible music and performances. The song Naatu Naatu also won the Best Original Song Award at the Oscars in 2023.

Coming to Ram Charan, the actor’s next release is Game Changer, which also stars Kiara Advani. Directed by S Shankar, the film is slated to release in September 2024. Jr NTR will be seen in Koratala Siva’s Devara Part 1, which also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The film will hit the theatres on October 10, 2024.
