After Salaar, Prabhas is coming up next with Kalki 2898 AD. The film marks the first collaboration between the Baahubali star and director Nag Ashwin (known for Mahanati). It has been in the making for a long time, and the shoot is expected to be completed very soon. As the film belongs to the sci-fi and dystopian genre, there’s excitement around it.
While Kalki 2898 AD is still in the making, it is already in huge demand among buyers of different sectors. When it comes to the OTT world, makers are quoting a massive amount to sell OTT rights. Though the official number is not known, it is rumored that the makers are demanding 200 crores for OTT rights. Yes, it’s really an exorbitant price, but still, it could be agreed upon considering the powerful star cast and business potential of the film.

Reportedly, Kalki 2898 AD is carrying a budget of 600 crores, thus making it the most expensive Indian film ever. If the makers successfully lock a deal for the aforementioned amount, they would recover a big chunk of 33.33% of the film’s total budget.
Speaking about Prabhas’ last film, Salaar reportedly bagged 160 crores by selling OTT rights of South Indian languages to Netflix. Interestingly, the price of the Hindi version rights, which are with Disney+ Hotstar, is not known.
Meanwhile, apart from Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan in key roles. Reportedly, even HanuMan fame Teja Sajja has joined the cast. The film is scheduled to release on 9th May 2024. There have been reports about the postponement due to pending post-production work, but makers are trying their best to meet the deadline.
