Kalki 2898 AD is one of the biggest releases of 2024. The film stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. Directed by Nag Ashwin, it’s a sci-fi dystopian fantasy thriller. The promo and the posters have caused great excitement amongst the fans and movie-going audiences. Not much is revealed about the plot, but it is reported that the film is set in the distant future and inspired by the Hindu mythology of Lord Vishnu’s final avatar of Kalki in the Kali Yuga.

The Prabhas starrer is scheduled to release on May 9, 2024. However, the Lok Sabha Election dates for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were recently announced. The first phase begins on April 19, and the fourth and final phase is scheduled on June 4, 2024. Since then, fans have wondered if the makers will postpone the release date. After all, the elections might significantly impact its theatrical reception, but not in a good way.

So far, the makers or the star cast have not officially announced any changes to the release date. The best we can do now is wait a few days until the changes happen.

Meanwhile, the cast and crew of the film have made sure that they keep the details or plot of the movie under wraps. There’s very little known about the premise of the Prabhas starrer. Last year, the Baahubali star was asked about his role, and he gave a hilarious answer. The actor said in a video that his character is a superhero, but he’s a funny guy. The Salaar star added that his character Bhairava is the only funny guy in Nag Ashwin’s film and called his character a “comedian”.
