It’s been remade in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Sinhala, and Mandarin Chinese! And get this, they’re even talking about making it in Indonesian and Korean! Looks like “Drishyam” is headed for Hollywood next!
It debuted on screens back in 2013 in Malayalam, kickstarting an entire movie franchise. Following its success, in 2014, we were treated to the Kannada adaptation “Drishya” and the Telugu version “Drushyam,” both garnering immense popularity in their respective regions. Then, in 2015, we saw the Tamil version “Papanasam” and the Hindi one Drishyam keeping the hype train rolling!

And the story kept going! In 2017, they came out with a Sinhala version named “Dharmayuddhaya” and a Mandarin Chinese version called “Sheep Without a Shepherd”. It just proves how the story and characters can connect with people worldwide!

Now, as the franchise sets its sights on Hollywood, Panorama Studios, in collaboration with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films, is spearheading the English-language adaptation. Gulfstream Pictures, founded by Mike Karz and Bill Bindley, brings a wealth of experience, while Panorama Studios secures the global remake rights from the original producers, Aashirvad Cinemas.
So, they’re working on a Hollywood version of “Drishyam” right now, and they’re also talking about doing one in Spanish. Kumar Mangat Pathak, the big boss at Panorama Studios, is pumped about sharing the incredible story of “Drishyam ” with folks worldwide. He’s even considering taking the franchise to 10 countries in the next few years. Cool, right?
