Bheeshma: Tollywood heartthrob Nithiin and the gorgeous actress Rashmika Mandanna’s fans are eager to catch their favourite actors on the big screen tomorrow for their romantic comedy venture, Bheeshma. The film which happens to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year in Tollywood has been so far in news for all the right reasons.
The same can’t be said now, as per the latest report from cinejosh.com that has been doing rounds, the makers of Nithiin and Rashmika Mandanna have been allegedly asked by BJP Dharmik Cell convener Tumuluri Sri Krishna Chaitanya, principal secretary Rathakaram Ramu and others to change the title of the film.
If reports are to be believed, the makers have been asked to change the title for hurting the religious sentiments by using the name of a warrior Bheeshma Pitamah from ancient Indian epic Mahabharata who was a celibate throughout his life. Whereas in the film, Nithiin is playing the role of a lover boy.
However, an official statement regarding the same is yet to be made by the makers and actors of Bheeshma.
For those unversed, it was only last year before the release of Varun Tej starrer Valmiki where the makers were asked by members of Boya Community to change the title of the film as it hurt their religious sentiments.

The members of the community had also filed a petition in court as they didn’t want Varun starrer to release with its original title. Following the petition, the Telangana High Court issued a notice asking the makers strictly to retitle the film’s name immediately before its release, following which Valmiki was retitled as Gaddalakonda Ganesh just hours before its release.
The title change to Varun Tej starrer didn’t cause much harm to the film, as Gaddalakonda Ganesh had a great run and was declared successful.
