Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi who was last seen in period actioner Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy has been making headlines from the past number of months following his much anticipated, Acharya. The veteran actor who is currently spending his quality time with his family amid lockdown, in an interview opened up about the rumours in media alleging Telugu heartthrob Mahesh Babu having a cameo in Acharya.
In an interview to ibtimes.co.in, Chiranjeevi quoted, “I wonder how Mahesh’s name popped out in this. I mean Mahesh respects me a lot. I like him too. He is like my son. But he was never considered for that role.”

Earlier there were also reports about Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan being approached for the role in the Kortala Siva’s directorial, speaking about the same, the Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy actor said, “Koratala Siva wants Charan for that role. But he is busy with RRR. We don’t know whether he can allocate dates for our film. That will purely depend on the understanding between Rajamouli and Koratala Shiva. We have to wait and see. It is not a guest role but a reasonably lengthy one.”

More about Acharya, the film helmed by Kortala Siva will have Chiranjeevi as a Naxalite. The social actioner will have the gorgeous Kajal Aggarwal as the film’s leading lady.
Before roping in Kajal Aggarwal, the makers had roped in actress Trisha opposite Chiranjeevi, but following some creative differences, the latter opted to walk out from the project.
The shoot of Acharya is currently put on halt following due to the lockdown.
