The Rain Season 3 Review (Netflix): What is it about?
The season 3 or the finale starts from where the second season ended. In the last episode of season 2, Simone (Alba August) shoots Rasmus (Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen) in the leg when he tries to attack Martin (Mikkel Følsgaard) with the virus. Rasmus is angry due to Sarah’s (Clara Rosager) death and blames his sister for the same. After getting shot in his leg, he leaves the two and meets Apollon’s leader Sten (Johannes Bah Kuhnke).
The final season starts 3 months later since Rasmus goes away. He and Sten team up to deal with the deadly virus. They realise that the virus cannot be killed. Hence, they find the solution of turning every person like Rasmus with the virus inside their body. On the other hand, Simone along with Fie go to the other side of the wall to find the former’s brother. Will she able to find out what her brother is going to do? If yes, how will she stop him? That’s to watch in the series.

The Rain Season 3 Review (Netflix): What’s Good & Bad?
When the coronavirus pandemic started affecting everyone, it reminded me of The Rain. The series started in 2018 is of much relevance in 2020 for various reasons. I loved the first two seasons. It was an apocalypse series due to a poisonous rain that swiped away human beings due to a particular virus. The astonishing factor is the deadly virus is Rasmus, a human being. The expectations from season 3 were quite high. However, you are in for a disappointment. The first episode did build a curiosity, but the story went downhill. Random twists and unnecessary drama and fights are used to take the story forward. All this ends up with a messy platter in the end.

From being a post-apocalyptic or sci-fi thriller, it ended up on being a dragged emotional drama. It seemed as if the makers wanted to JUST end the series and they did whatever they can. The plot had a lot of loopholes. If you think all your questions will be answered, you are in for a disappointment. In fact, you will have more questions.
The performances in the series were good. But even with such a talented cast, you can’t ignore how shabby the finale season is.
The Rain Season 3 Review (Netflix): Final Word
This Danish series is one of the best Netflix shows I’ve watched so far. The expectations were high for the finale. But all I got was a lost plot, weak writing and an undeserving finale. This reminds me of how Games of Thrones fans felt with a disappointing final season.

Sarah returns after her death. They have shown that it happened because of the virus. The reason appeared quite vague. How did the virus bring her back to life? How is she not showing any side effects whereas Rasmus is growing weak as the episode proceeds?
Martin is one of the people who decided to infect himself with the virus to stay alive. He supports Rasmus’ idea. In the series, they show that the virus becomes vulnerable due to fire. However, in one scene, Martin and Simone are sitting in front of a bonfire but the former isn’t affected at all. How and why?
A random flower kills the virus. It’s a man-made virus. Sten also tells Rasmus that he created him because he thought the could bring a ‘change’ in the world. So how can a random flower kill the man-made virus? Someone must have created it. For a sci-fi thriller, this is one of the biggest loopholes.
