The Last Days of American Crime is a story of survival and revenge. The USA government is all set to broadcast an API signal that affects the brains of criminals and stop them from committing crimes. It’s a challenge for all the criminals as they can neither run to any other country, nor they are safe in theirs. That’s when three people come together and plan to conduct a perfect last crime before the API signal is sent out. These three are – Graham Bricke (Édgar Ramírez), Kevin Cash (Michael Pitt) and Shelby Dupree (Anna Brewster). Sounds interesting, isn’t it? But is the film as interesting as the plot? Read on.

The Last Days of American Crime is based on Greg Tocchini’s novel of the same name. Olivier Megaton wanted to show us an astonishing heist as it will be the last one before the broadcast of API signal. To see the last crime in action keeps you motivated to watch the film. But the story is not just about committing a crime. There are emotions involved in this bloodlust world. Someone wants to prove a point, one wants to seek revenge and some only want to be free and secure. This crime drama treats you with a sweet love story. But everything is not dreamy in the criminal world.

The Last Days of American Crime Review: What’s bad?

The film is tedious to watch as it’s 2 hours 29 mins long. In some scenes, there’s too much talking going on. Such films make you expect some good action sequences, but there’s nothing new that we haven’t seen before. After an hour, you end up losing interest in watching The Last Days of American Crime. Even the twists were predictable.

I watched it till the end with a hope to see something that will blow away my mind. I only enjoyed one scene at Kevin’s father’s house. It was sad to see such good actors wasted in a film like this.

With a title this interesting, the expectations are high. You won’t miss out on anything if you plan to skip this Netflix film. Because of the powerful trailer, if you want to still give it a try, don’t keep high hopes.
