Four times National Award-winning Sanjay Surkar’s direction is not upto the mark as he has not been able to make a film which touches the heart. A lot of potentially emotional scenes fall flat on their face. Aadesh Shrivastava’s music is more functional than anything else. A couple of hit and mood-uplifting songs were the need of the film. Swanand Kirkire’s lyrics are good. Choreography (Remo D’Souza) is imaginative but gets repetitive after a point of time. Sanjay Jadhav’s cinematography is average. Editing (Rajesh Rao) is loose.
Standby Review – Komal Nahta’s Verdict
On the whole, Standby has some good moments but they aren’t enough to make the film stand at the box-office. Given the lack of face value on the one hand and the poor start it has taken on the other, its chances at the ticket windows are bleak.
