Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Review – Direction & Music

Rupert Wyatt’s direction is good. Though the pace in the first half seems slow, he manages to give it momentum in the latter half. However, a major drawback is that he ends up making the apes look very ferocious and, therefore, they (apes) don’t get the audience sympathy, even though they are being ill-treated. Patrick Doyle’s background music is okay. Andrew Lesnie’s cinematography is good. Editing, by Conrad Buff and Mark Goldblatt, is okay in the fist half and very crisp in the climax. Shaun Friedberg’s visual effects are lovely.

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes Review – Verdict

On the whole, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes will appeal to the fans of the science-fiction genre. But that will not be enough for it to score at the Indian box-office.
