What’s Bad: Not much of Comedy and Glamour. Commercial elements would have been much better. Radhika Apte’s role has less significance.
Loo break: If needed!
Watch or Not?: Good to watch if you wish to see an emotional entertainer. CBI officers must watch this film – May get inspired!
User Rating:
A powerful CBI officer Bose (Balakrishna) chases the big shots who possesses illegal assets. He doesn’t spare anyone when it comes to his duty. Considering him the most sincere officer in the department, higher officials give him the task of investigating the death case of Chief Minister. Here forms the twist.
The death which was stated in the media as a natural one, turns to be a murder and Bose finds it out with his intelligence. High profile people are involved in this issue and Bose doesn’t care the warning they give him. How Bose reveals the truth to the media and the government about the murder of the Chief Minister forms the rest of the story.
Being a debutant director, Satya Dev gave his best. He handled the senior hero in the right way and the film looked to be on the lines of Balakrishna’s past powerful blockbusters Simha and Legend. The story of the flick looked a bit confusing in the first half but gets completely on track in the second half.
Director felt like confusing the audience by manipulating the things in the first half. Completely virtual environment was set for a while, which confused the audience. But the interval break and the first few minutes of the second half gave full clarity on the flick. The sequences were well framed and the flash back, current scenario scenes were well planned.
This is the first flick after Balakrishna turned into a politician. He didn’t feel any sort of pressure and his performance was on par with his past blockbusters. Emotion and Action were well maintained in his character of Bose.
Trisha was fine and her character is confined to fill in the commercial gap for the film. Radhika Apte’s role was very limited. In fact, even if her role is removed, the film will have the same status. A little bit of glamour war was seen between Trisha and Radhika.
Satya Dev was on the lines of Boyapati Srinu. It is tough to handle a senior hero that too after two blockbusters. Satya Dev’s direction ability cannot be commented in a negative way. He gave his best and the film looked good.
Editing was fine and Screenplay can be considered as one of the best.
After “Simha” and “Legend”, Balakrishna roared once again on the silver screen. While in Simha, he acted as a doctor – professor and in Legend, he acted as a businessman and a man who lives for the society, in Lion, he is a CBI officer. The professions changed, but the message he gives to the society remained the same. Respect your profession and help the society. Another powerful entertainer from Balayya!
