Captain America: The First Avenger Review – Direction & Visual Effects

Director Joe Johnston maintains the pace of the narrative and he is able to tell the tale in an interesting manner. However, he fails in making the narrative seamless in the second half, something that irritates the audience. Alan Silvestri’s background score is appropriate. Shelly Johnson’s cinematography is excellent. He has been able to light and frame his shots appropriately enough to make the World War II setting of the film believable. The visual effects are effective. Editing, by Robert Dalva and Jeffrey Ford, is fair. Rick Heinrichs’ production design is superb.

Captain America: The First Avenger Review – Verdict

All in all, Captain America: The Last Avenger is an average fare that will work for a section of the city-based audiences only.
