Coronavirus is a topic of debate all across the globe and its outbreak has created a wave of fear amongst the people. China, from where the outbreak took place, has been facing several drastic effects in various fields and one of them is the box office.
As per Comscore, the sale of the China box office has gone down by around $ 1.91 billion during January and February 2020. During the same period in the last year, the business was recorded around $ 2.148 billion. Earlier, it was learnt that major Hollywood releases have been postponed as cinema halls were forced to shut down in order to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

Around 70,000 theatres remain closed during the month of January. As per the report in The Hollywood Reporter, the CEO of Chinese Cinema company Lumiere Pavilion, Jimmy Wu said that the government will take measures like emergency funding to boost the cinema industry.

Meanwhile, in India, Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Minister B. Sriramulu appealed to consider only official information and shun rumours on Coronavirus.
“I request that you consider only official information, without heeding any rumours that are spreading across various social networking sites,” tweeted Sriramulu.
He said the state Health and Family Welfare department has taken all possible measures to prevent the spread of infection.
“So far, 40,207 passengers have been inspected at the Bengaluru airport. Blood tests were performed on 251 people and 238 were negative. The report of the remaining 13 people is yet to come,” he said.
Explaining the 24-year-old city-based techie’s case, who tested positive for Coronavirus in Hyderabad, Sriramulu said his residence and office in Bengaluru were cleaned on Tuesday from the infection.
