It was last month when Mollywood star actor and director Prithviraj Sukumaran announced the remake rights of his directorial debut Lucifer being acquired by Megastar Chiranjeevi. Ever since then there have been numerous speculations among Chiru fans about who will be helming the film.
Fans didn’t have to wait much to know the answer, as it was revealed that the Telugu remake of the Malayalam super hit will be helmed by filmmaker Sukumar.
The latest news related to the Telugu remake is, as per a report from greatandhra.com, the Chiranjeevi starrer has been put on hold. Sukumar who wijll be helming AA20 soon starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna has a jam-packed schedule ahead.
Plus, Chiranjeevi will soon be kickstarting his next which has been tentatively titled #Chiru152 which will be helmed by Koratala Siva.

Thus, the Telugu remake of the film has been put on hold for now and will take some time before it goes on floors.
Talking about Lucifer, the original has Mollywood superstars Mohanlal in the lead role. The film when released was a runaway hit, as it was well-received by the audience all across and had a great run at the box office.
The Mohanlal starrer also has Manju Warrier, Vivek Oberoi, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran among others in pivotal roles.
The film in Malayalam was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas production company.
