Shruti Haasan: “I’m Always Looking To Get Better At What I Do”

Shruti Haasan has completed 11 years as an actor and she is happy with the way her career has shaped up, though she is always looking to improve herself.

“In a way I am happy and thankful I am still here but I think my personality is such that I always look for room to improve. So I am always looking to get better at what I do,” Shruti told IANS.

Shruti made her Bollywood debut in 2009 with “Luck” and was seen in films like “D-Day”, “Gabbar Is Back”, ” Ramaiya Vastavaiya” and “Welcome Back”.

She gained recognition with her roles in Telugu films like “Oh My Friend” and “Anaganaga O Dheerudu”, and the Tamil thriller “7aum Arivu.”

Shruti, daughter of veteran actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika, recently starred in the digitally-released film, “Yaara”, which also featured Vidyut Jammwal, Kenny Basumatry, Vijay Varma and Amit Sadh.

Apart from acting, Shruti Haasan is also an established playback singer. She had started her career as a music director with her father’s production Unnaipol Oruvan (2009). Thereafter, she formed her own band.

Haasan has also been nominated for her work for singing “Kannazhaga Kaalazhaga” in 3 (2012) and “Yendi Yendi” in Puli (2015). She was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer – Telugu for “Junction Lo” in Aagadu (2014).

Shruti Haasan, as a child artist sang in films and appeared in a guest role in her father’s directorial Hey Ram (2000). As an adult, she made a debut in the 2009 Bollywood flick Luck.

The actress-singer went on to establish herself in South Indian cinema with several commercially successful films, like Gabbar Singh (2012), Vedalam (2015), Srimanthudu (2015), and Si3 (2017).
