We saw our favourite superheroes like Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow sacrifice themselves in Avengers: Endgame. That did break a million hearts, but something that they have been eagerly waiting for to begin is the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase Four. Well, that happiness may witness a roadblock too!

Black Widow was supposed to be the first film from MCU Phase Four, scheduled for a release on May 1, 2020. The list was to be followed by 5 other films including The Eternals (2021), Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings (2021), Spider-Man 3 (2021), a sequel to Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness (2021) and Thor: Love And Thunder (2022). However, owing to the on-going coronavirus pandemic, the Scarlett Johansson starrer along with multiple other Disney films had to be pushed.

Black Widow will now release on November 6. It is very well known that Marvel manages its own timeline, and strictly follows it when it comes to its releases throughout the year, as change in a single, may largely impact the entire future releases. So with several films being pushed, and others not having a release date, the future of MCU Phase Four remains rather unknown.

Furthermore, if Love And Thunder will mark an end to Phase Four on February 18, 2022 and Black Panther 2 marks the initiation of Phase Five with Captain Marvel following by, it will be first time in 13 years that MCU will witness 2 phases’ transformation in a single year, with barely a gap of 3 months.

Only time will tell whether Marvel Studios will manage to work everything out, or if some of the movies will be pushed too Phase Four or Kevin Fiege will altogether quash the plans of phases! What do you think?
