In Avengers: Endgame, Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man snapped his fingers using the infinity gauntlet to kill Thanos and his army. To finish off the mighty villain, played by Josh Brolin, Tony Stark sacrificed his life. The infinity gauntlet possesses too much power and hence, it isn’t easy to survive its effect.
From the day Endgame released in 2019, fans have been debating over the topic that if Chris Evans aka Captain America would’ve snapped his fingers, he would’ve not died like Iron Man. However, as mentioned by Screenrant, even Cap couldn’t have survived the snap. Read on to know why.
The infinity stones tend to severely damage anyone who uses it. Thanos was a very powerful villain and the makers had shown us the same in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. After wiping away Earth’s half population, Thanos used the infinity stones to destroy the stones and it almost killed him. In Endgame, we see a weak villain who walks slowly. That level of power the stones possess.
Even Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, who is considered as the strongest Avenger damaged his right hand when he snapped the fingers to bring back those who the Mad Titan snapped away in Infinity War. Hulk also survived the snap as he said in the film the radiation from the snap is mostly gamma. Hulk himself mostly made of gamma so it didn’t kill him.

As for Steve Rogers, he would have died as he is a human at the end of the day. He doesn’t wear any iron suit or protective armour, so he could’ve died quickly compared to Iron Man. Also, the infinity gauntlet Thanos used was the best suited and finely made to deal with the powers of the stone. On the other hand, the one that Iron Man was made by him.
So this puts an end to an argument whether Captain America would’ve survived the snap or not.
