Bengali moviemaker and producer Raj Chakraborty has tested positive for coronavirus on Monday. The filmmaker is currently quarantined at home. Other members in his family, including wife Subhashree Ganguly, will undergo the test.

Raj’s father is currently hospitalised but due to some other ailment. He has tested negative for the virus.

Raj Chakraborty took to Twitter and shared the news. He wrote, “I have been tested COVID-19 positive. My father has been hospitalized recently, but he has been tested negative both the time. In home quarantine right now. Rest of my family members will be testing for COVID-19 too. These are the trying times.”

Raj Chakraborty is taking utmost care so that other family members don’t get affected. His wife Subhashree is expecting and her due date in next month. Raj’s family doesn’t want to take any chances of keeping the safety of the mother and the unborn baby in mind.

Meanwhile, former West Bengal Tourism Minister and senior Trinamool Congress leader from Malda district, Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury, too has tested corona positive on Monday.

The Trinamool leader has also been put in home quarantine under medical observation. Sources said that his family members are planning to admit him to a Kolkata hospital.
