Baahubali: Crown Of Blood Trailer Review: Prequel With Amarendra & Bhallaldeva Fighting Katappa's Betrayal Demands Prabhas - Rana Daggubati Reunion RN!
Baahubali: Crown Of Blood Trailer Out: Deserves An OG Film (Photo Credit – Youtube)

There is a very basic saying about films in general. A good story very rarely fails, and you would want to believe this saying once you watch the trailer for Baahubali: Crown Of Blood. After making an entire nation hook to a single catchphrase – ‘Katappa ne Baahubali ko kyun mara?,SS Rajamouli is back with a prequel.

The animated series brings back all the voices of the dubbing artists, with Sharad Kelkar‘s deep baritone offering a major nostalgia for Baahubali. The animated story takes you to the ancient times of Mahishmati, before the dreaded Amarendra and Bhallaldeva’s rivalry.

In Baahubali: Crown of Blood, the two rival brothers unite to fight a common enemy, and even this time, guess who betrays the kingdom of Mahishmati? None other than Katappa! We guess he is indeed the only villain in the history of Hindi Cinema who doesn’t boil your blood!

In the 1 minute 47 seconds trailer, made specifically for the target audience of children, Amarendra and Bhallaldeva are on their toes to save Mahishmati while Rajmata instills courage in them.

The animation brings back memories of the 90s Amar Chitra Katha, Akbar Birbal, and Tenali Raman comic book stories, and I refuse to adult if I get to watch such great content and stories in not-so-great yet interesting and doable formats.

Also, this interesting trailer that sets the premise of the sequel definitely excited the Baahubali fan inside me, and I beg, pray, and plead with SS Rajamouli to reunite Prabhas and Rana Dagguabati if the story is enough to appeal to the audiences on the big screen. Looking at a glimpse, I feel that it might make the Baahubali franchise bigger and better.

After Netflix shunned the Baahubali: Before The Beginning franchise, tracing the story of Sivagami and how she became Mahishmati’s Queen, we could certainly place our bets on Baahubali: Crown Of Blood it feels.

The series will stream on Disney Hotstar from May 17 onwards!

Catch the trailer here.

What’s Good: The ambition that’s visible from scene one until the end, the crossing limits of ‘how far can you stretch?’ because you’d imagine the wildest outcome for a scene but Rajamouli would go a step ahead!

What’s Bad: Some would watch this on their TV sets, I know not everyone can have the luxury but if you can, pick the best possible screen

Loo Break: It’s 3 hours long and I’d still ask you to watch this empty stomach to avoid breaks

Watch or Not?: Even if you haven’t seen a single film before, make this your first!

Available On: Theatrical Release

Runtime: 186 Minutes

Before you read what the story is all about, trust me, it’ll sound like an ordinary ‘brutal Brits VS ingenious Indians’ story, in which a White family abducts a kid Mali because why not? They have always been doing this, and what always has been done is also taking revenge on them but trust me it hasn’t been as grand as this. So, now you know the basic outline of the story, the kid that’s abducted from the poor Indian family is protected by Bheem (Jr NTR), as the film states there’s a herdsman for every group and the Brits choose the wrong one to mess with.

Bheem clashes with Ram (Ram Charan) and grows to be his BFF without knowing that he’s working for British Government. Ram is that kind of officer, who works even on the weekend just to keep his boss happy, but internally even he wants only thing ‘revenge’ because why else would an Indian earn such a high rank in the British force? Though Ram is a frustrated employee of the company, he builds a play to earn their trust and for that, he does some pretty nasty things to Bheem. Bheem wants Mali, Ram wants revenge & you’d want to take a breath to process what happened in the last 3 hours of your life.

RRR Movie Review: Script Analysis

Every commercial masala movie before this has somewhere deep down ‘aimed’ to be larger than life, but with his vision, SS Rajamouli has time and again achieved that feat and RRR is no different. This also proves to be the classic Rajamouli case in which the screenplay eclipses everything even the story (by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad), which pinches at places due to its very ambitious runtime of 186 minutes. No, it doesn’t feel like a 3-hour film, but its second half does come with speed-breakers.

Prasad ji’s story takes sweet time to construct the past & present of Bheem, Ram but it’s Rajamouli’s screenplay that adds ‘large’ in the film’s ‘larger than life’ treatment. Prasad Ji has written the most lionized entry sequences for both Jr & Ram and has pushed the bar to a level no one would be able to touch but Rajamouli. All of this coupled with K. K. Senthil Kumar’s cinematography just feels like a cosmic magical act being performed on stage. Even in the scenes which doesn’t have much drama to showcase action, Senthil just uses ultra-wide zoom-out aerial shots to bridge two scenes.

RRR Movie Review: Star Performance

Ram Charan nails the mix of style & substance to look believable as a charming Indian in pre-independence British force. Thanks to Rajamouli, Prasad, Ram now owns Indian cinema’s best ‘one vs many’ fight sequences. I would even dare to stretch it to call it even slightly better than Jon Snow’s ‘The Battle Of Bast*rds’ in Game Of Thrones, and you can judge me on this but watch it first.

Jr NTR is the heart of Ram’s brains in the film. He shows how to display brute force in one scene & take a complete u-turn to be equally poignant in another. For some reason, throughout the film, Jr NTR’s act reminded me of how Aamir Khan would love to do such roles.

Alia Bhatt & Ajay Devgn are just about okay in their cameos. It’s like, this could’ve been done even without them but it’s good to have them. Olivia Morris, Alison Doody & Ray Stevenson are

Valimai promo - Superstar Ajith and director Vinoth promise mass explosion in this Boney Kapoor & Zee Studios’ pan-India mass entertainer
Valimai Trailer Review! ( Photo Credit – Valimai Poster )

2021 is closing on a high, and how! For an entire year gone by there has been a massive build up for Tamil film Valimai. Frankly, the craze around the film has been unparalleled. In addition to RRR, if there is one film that has been hyped the most and is on top of the mind of cinegoers on a pan-India level, it’s Valimai.

Well, the day has arrived and the wait has turned out to be truly worth it, what with the trailer turning out to be truly massive. A big film needs a big promo indeed and the duration is also just apt for it, what with its running time being a little over 3 minutes. Though the promo that has been released for now is in Tamil, the Hindi version would be out in a week for now. That said, language is not a barrier for this promo and the reason is plain and simple – an abundance of action!

That’s right; there is so much of action-packed in these three minutes that you don’t really worry much about the language part. Ajith is shown as a cop (the senior kind who is plain clothed) and then there is a biker gang involved. All of this results in some daredevil bike stunts that promise to be an altogether new experience for the Indian audience. Of course, there are cars and buses involved as well which make one recollect many such action entertainers by Rohit Shetty.

However, Valimai director Vinoth creates something new with his action director here and together they have shown bikes on screen in a way that has never before been done by any other Indian filmmaker.

Beyond the bike and the car stunts, there is a lot of drama promised as well with the cop and criminal angle coming into play, and this is where Huma Qureshi steps into the scene as well as a fellow cop. The rest is taken care of by the background score which is truly thumping and in line with the kind that one expects from an out and out mass action entertainer coming from the south in the form of Valimai.

All in all, the promo has done the trick and has assured a huge opening for Valimai. It is set to go past the opening day number of Pushpa on an all India level and one waits to see that how it does in Hindi.

Just like Allu Arjun, even Ajith has a good market amongst the pan-India audiences, courtesy response to his dubbed films that play on satellite channels. That said, even Pushpa had started on a decent note and even if Valimai kickstarts on the same lines and then grows on the basis of word of mouth, it would be game on for this Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios production that releases this Pongal.

RRR Trailer Review: Just like Baahubali, SS Rajamouli’s upcoming magnum opus is enjoying buzz like anything. Ever since the project was announced with names like Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt, the film was said to be a blockbuster. Now, the trailer is out and has already shattered records! But is it worth all the hype? Let’s discuss this in detail.

First of all, get it clear in your mind that SS Rajamouli is a maverick filmmaker. He is known for gifting some visually appealing films that are full of grandeur. But unlike most filmmakers, his work always assures you a high dose of entertainment. So, it’s not only about the big canvas.

Speaking about the trailer (Hindi), RRR takes you back during the British era in India. It starts with a person speaking about a girl one British officer forcibly took away along with him. The girl belongs to the Gond tribe. And there enters our first hero, Jr NTR. He looks heroic, especially when he roars back at a tiger.

Jr NTR is a powerful man, fighting against all evils. To stop him, one police officer, a part of the British police force, is appointed. He’s none other than Ram Charan. He too gets his share of the heroic entrance. Interestingly, as the trailer suggests, Ram and NTR share a close friendship, more or less a bond of brotherhood. However, Ram arrests NTR for being a rebel against the British government.

The trailer takes a twist when we witness Ram Charan and Jr NTR coming together to take on their enemies.

Apart from the two leading men, the RRR trailer glimpses us with Ajay Devgn’s powerful presence. Unfortunately, we got to see just a little of Alia Bhatt.

Speaking of the SS Rajamouli’s cinematic canvas, in a duration of 3 minutes and 16 seconds, the filmmaker excites us with tremendous sets and VFX work. Especially, the fight shots towards the end look superb. Also, hands down to background music, that holds your attention.

On the whole, the RRR trailer lives up to its hype! Now, keep your calm and wait for January 7, 2022.
