We are back with another set of nominations for the Koimoi Audience Poll 2023. The year that gave us beautiful and wholesome content on OTT. While Hindi films had a comeback at the box office and South Indian films maintained their pace, Hindi web series on different OTT platforms kept people hooked to their home screens.

In the year 2023, web series like Saas, Bahu, and Aur Flamingo were very bold attempts, while Hansal Mehta’s Scoop offered the story of a journalist trapped in a murder – the real story of Jigna Vora shocked everyone.

There were stories that were etched in the hearts of the audiences, and in our annual tradition of acknowledging the best, we are here to honor the best. Out of all the web series released in 2023, we have picked the best four as nominations for Best Web Series of the year.

Here are the nominees for the Best Web Series that were released in 2023.

1. Jubilee

Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, created and helmed by Vikramaditya Motwane Jubilee, was a beautiful dream. Everything in this period drama was so intricately done that it bowled us over. Right from the songs to the casting. The official synopsis of the web series rightfully says, “Thrilling yet poetic tale woven around an ensemble of characters and the gambles they’re willing to take, in pursuit of their dreams, passion, ambition, and love.”

2. Kohraa

Streaming on Netflix, the official synopsis of this Barun Sobti-led web series read, “When a bridegroom is found dead days before his wedding, two police officers must unravel the troubling case as turbulence unfolds in their own lives and threatens to ruin the case.” The intriguing crime thriller grabbed nine nominations at the Filmfare OTT Awards as well.

3. Guns & Gulaabs S1

Inspired by Guns N Roses, this Netflix web series starring Rajkummar Rao and Dulquer Salmaan was a brilliant attempt at black comedy. Helmed by Raj & DK, the official synopsis of the show read, “In a sleepy town, a mechanic struggles to emerge from his dead gangster father’s shadow in a mission to win over the love of his life. An honest officer ends up being a chaos agent, whilst a reluctant cartel heir has an identity crisis.”

4. The Railway Men

A true and gory depiction of what happened during the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, The Railway Men, streaming on Netflix and starring Kay Kay Menon, Babil Khan, R Madhavan, and Divenndu in the lead defied all terms related to excellence. The official synopsis of the show read, “After a deadly gas leak from a factory in Bhopal, brave railway workers risk their lives to save others in the face of an unspeakable disaster.”
