Vishal’s Reported Fee For IPL
According to a list by Star Sports, quoted via Jagran, the regional commentators this year will be paid somewhere between 68.43 lakh and 1.29 crore. While the initial payments will be made to the less experienced commentators, the higher range is for the seniors and seasoned experts.
Hindi Commentators Paid Much Higher
Seasoned cricketer Harbhajan Singh will be paid 3.08 crore for commentary in Hindi. So, Vishal will be paid only 22% of what Harbhajan, Irfan Pathan, and other cricketers will earn for Hindi commentary. The starting range for Hindi commentators is also 68 lakh which might be Vishal’s earning this IPL season.
The list of Bhojpuri commentators includes Ravi Kishan, Vishal Aditya Singh, Mohd Saif, Shivam Singh, Satya Prakash, Gulam Hussain, Saurabh Kumar, Shalinee Singh, Ashutosh Aman, and Sumit Kumar. Out of this lot, Ravi Kishan will surely be paid 1.29 crore. Reports suggest that last year, the Bhojpuri commentators were paid 20K – 30K per match.
For the unversed, Bhojpuri commentary was introduced in the IPL 2023 and had a brilliant success rate, with audiences tuning in to listen to the match in their local dialect. Meanwhile, the Bhojpuri commentators have been making the match as lively as possible with their puns, digs, proverbs, phrases, and idioms.
