Will Ferrell Teases Scripting Of ‘Wedding Crashers’ Sequel Is In Process

2005 romantic-comedy release Wedding Crashers was one of the biggest hits that year in Hollywood. The film led by Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn was equally successful, both critically and commercially. Because sequels of hit films being current favorites among moviegoers, there has been constant speculations from a long time about Wedding Crashers having (sequel) one too. In an interview, Will Ferrell who had a small yet important role as a funeral crasher stated that one can expect a sequel to the film.

Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams who are currently seen in Netflix’s Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, spoke about the possibilities of Wedding Crashers sequel which also had Rachel in key roles. Though in the film they didn’t share any scene the duo are keen to work together again post Eurovision Song Contest.

In an interview to E!News, Will Ferrell speaking about ‘Wedding Crashers’ sequel said, “Wedding Crashers 2, yeah. I think we can just say it’s being written,”

The Step Brothers actor joked, “How about if it’s just the lawyers representing everyone in divorce court? And just make it like a legal courtroom drama, not funny at all.”

To which Rachel McAdams stated that she would love to work if Wedding Crashers gets a sequel, and would happily reunite with her co-stars Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. As she said, “I got to work with Owen again on Midnight in Paris, so that was super fun. And I worked with Vince again on True Detective, now I’m just remembering it. But those were very different. So yeah, it’d be nice to go back and have a romp.”

Sharing her experience working with Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdam said, ” “Will and I actually never met on that film (Wedding Crashers), because he was doing a cameo…we were like ships passing, I was always just so wishing another opportunity would come along, where we’d actually be in the same scene together.”

“I think he’s (Will) one of the funniest men on the planet. So, I’m just a huge fan. And he’s one of the loveliest men as well.” added the Spotlight actress.

Interestingly, Will and Rachel’s latest web-series Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga on Netflix is been helmed by none other than their ‘Wedding Crasher’ director David Dobkin.
