When JK Rowling Supported Johnny Depp Despite Getting Trolled After Amber Heard’s Allegations!

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are grabbing headlines for a long time due to their legal battle. It’s a never-ending and twisted drama and no one knows when it will end. The blame-game seems to go longer for now and more truth is yet to come forward.

When Johnny Depp was first accused by Amber Heard of alleged physical violence, a lot of people bashed and cancelled him. Same happened with Harry Potter writer JK Rowling when she cast him in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald (2018). It was a sequel to their film, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them (2016). Rowling was severely bashed for not replacing him in the film despite Heard’s accusations.

But JK Rowling didn’t replace Johnny Depp in her film. She gave a positive response on why she had cast Pirates of The Caribbean actor. Reacting to the backlash from people, in her statement, one of her paragraphs read – “However, the agreements that have been put in place to protect the privacy of two people, both of whom have expressed a desire to get on with their lives, must be respected. Based on our understanding of the circumstances, the filmmakers and I are not only comfortable sticking with our original casting but genuinely happy to have Johnny playing a major character in the movies.”

Her statement worsened the situation more and she was massively trolled on the internet. Fans felt that she isn’t understanding Amber Heard’s side. Everything changed when a recording of a call between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard leaked this year. In the recording, amid a the Aquaman actor threatened Depp. With this twist, fans changed their side and came out in Depp’s support. They even appreciated Rowling for never leaving his side.

Earlier, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Johnny Depp had reacted to criticism Rowling received. The actor said, “J.K. has seen the evidence and therefore knows I was falsely accused, and that’s why she has publicly supported me. She doesn’t take things lightly. She would not stand up if she didn’t know the truth. So that’s really it.”
