Four years ago, this time around, COVID-19 started to take a grasp on all our lives across the globe. The pandemic forced us to maintain social distancing, which kept us away from our loved ones. However, sometimes people could not bear to sit inside the house anymore and went out only to jeopardize their and others’ health. South Korean stars Cha Eun Woo and Jungkook were once criticized for going out to the clubs in Itaewon in 2020.

Eun Woo apologized for his irresponsible action with a handwritten note. The BTS and ASTRO stars were accompanied by SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu and Jaehyun of NCT. Eun-woo is one of the most renowned K-Drama actors, an accomplished singer, and a part of the K-Pop band ASTRO. He has millions of fans on Instagram.

According to GMA Entertainment, in April 2020, Cha Eun Woo, Jungkook, Mingyu, and Jaehyun were exposed by a Korean media outlet, Dispatch. The report revealed that the four pop stars were in the Itaewon neighborhood for a night out on April 25th and were reportedly out till April 26th at dawn. As per reports, a man visited the clubs in that area a few days later and tested positive later.

Cha Eun Woo took to ASTRO‘s official Twitter handle to apologize for his controversial behavior. As translated by Allkpop media outlet, his handwritten letter read, “Hello, this is Cha Eun Woo. First, I apologize for causing concern for so many people due to my careless actions.” He appreciated the contribution of the healthcare workers and civilians fighting against the pandemic and added, “To violate social distancing precautions and go out so complacently to a restaurant and bar in Itaewon with my acquaintances; it was wrong, and I am deeply reflecting on my actions.”

Cha Eun Woo also said he was apologetic towards everyone who watched over him, including his fans, band members, company staff, and everyone else. He revealed that people had sent him their love, and he would work hard to become a person who could think and act wisely. He ended the note by apologizing for the anxieties and concerns he caused with his action.

Besides Cha Eun Woo, Jungkook, Mingyu, and Jaehyun’s agencies apologized on their behalf. Check out the note here.
