Earlier, it was announced that Karen Gillan will play the lead role in a soft reboot of Pirates of The Caribbean. The latest news is that in the new Pirates film, the makers have cast Margot Robbie. This film is completely different from the soft reboot starring Gallen. For so many years, it was actor Johnny Depp who used to carry the film on his shoulders. But the actor is nowhere seen to be a part of either of the films.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Disney will bring to the audience a female-fronted version. The story will be written by Christina Hodson. Margot has earlier worked with Hodson in 2020 film, Birds of Prey. The new Pirates of The Caribbean is neither a spin-off nor it will have Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow at its centre. It’s an entirely new story with a female lead.
However, Johnny Depp fans aren’t pleased with the decision. While some have decided to boycott the film, some have an issue that they didn’t cast Depp along with the Suicide Squad actress. One of the fans on Twitter wrote, “It’s simple .. if the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie has no Captain Jack Sparrow, no Johnny Depp, I’m not watching it”. Another tweeted, “Disney could have both Margot Robbie and Johnny Depp united in one Pirates of The Caribbean film but they’re too freaking blind.”

I would just like to point out that I’m not against Margot Robbie starring in a Pirates Of The Caribbean movie. I just think she should be starring along side Johnny Depp who made the franchise what it is.

Margot Robbie is a talented actress and all, but Pirates Of the Caribbean will fail disastrously without Johnny Depp. The People solely watch it for Depp’s Jack Sparrow. He is what made the franchise a success.
