Mythbusters Host & Avengers Assemble Actor Grant Imahara Passes Away At The Age Of 49

Grant Imahara, an electrical engineer and a pioneer host of Discovery’s Mythbusters have passed away at the age of 49. The spokesperson for Discovery has confirmed the news to Variety.

“We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant. He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family,” the Discovery spokesperson said in a statement.

Further details about the death of Grant Imahara are still awaited.

Grant hosted Discovery Mythbusters for 9 long years starting from 2005 to 2014. The Avengers Assemble actor started with the third season and has hosted more than 200 episodes of the same. He was best known for making robots and electronic needed to experiment on the show.

Taking to Twitter, Adam Savage, Grant Imahara’s co-host expressed grief and wrote, “I’m at a loss. No words. I’ve been part of two big families with Grant Imahara over the last 22 years. Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist and performer, but also just such a generous, easygoing, and gentle PERSON. Working with Grant was so much fun. I’ll miss my friend.”

Besides Mythbusters and Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, Grant appeared in “Drunk History,” “Battlebots,” “Sharknado 3,” the web series “Star Trek Continues”.
