Maddox Jolie-Pitt, like many other college-goers, will have to complete this semester from the comfort of his house. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s 19-year-old son had to cut his first year at Yonsei University, South Korea short due to the coronavirus pandemic. He will now take part in the university’s virtual learning programs.
In April, Angelina opened up about how her eldest son’s studies were affected by the pandemic. She said that he will return to Yonsei University for schooling once worldwide concerns over COVID-19 calms down.

In an interview with Dong-A Ilbo Daily, a long-running media outlet in South Korea, Jolie said “I could not be happier about Mad’s choice of university. It is, of course, closed at the moment because of the pandemic. But he’s not transferring school. He’ll be back as soon as things settle.” She continued, “He’s using the time to focus on his Korean and Russian studies. We are all so happy, as a family, that we will have the opportunity to get to know South Korea even better through Maddox, and with him, during his studies.”
The source told ET that Maddox celebrated his 19th birthday on Wednesday at home with his mom and siblings.
