When Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande collaborated for Rain On Me, fans were left mesmerized for the longest time. But did you know, Gaga scratched Grande’s eye with her nail while rehearsing for the video? Yes, you read that right, the Shallow singer herself has revealed this and below is what she has to say.

Lady Gaga recently shared a BTS video from the rehearsals of Rain On Me. The video features the two singers in their candid self as they practise their moves. In the clip we can see, Gaga, telling a mate that she scratched Ariana Grande’s eye. She says, “Richard, I shanked her with my nail by accident, dancing.”

Later, we can see Grande checking the scratch in her phone and saying, “Lady Gaga scratched my eye. It’s an honor. I hope it scars.” To which Gaga adds, “Which I’m not going to let you do, so stop.”

Rain On Me, when it released back in June, went on to grab No 1 on the Billboards 100 chart. The song received 7 awards at the MTV Video Music Awards this year.

Elated Lady Gaga talking about the nominations on her Instagram handle wrote, “I am so grateful and so blessed to have 9 #VMAs nominations this year for my album Chromatica, for Rain On Me, and other performances I’ve given. This is such a difficult time for people all over the world, I really honor how lucky I am to have a day like today,” she added.
